Hey guys, been a while since I posted my plugins list, I have been using these same plugins for a few months now and not only are they completely stable and cause no problems at all, they are also updated by their authors frequently especially whenever WordPress release a new update.
You will always find these plugins up to date. If you have any comments about any of the plugins below or would like to add, recommend better or similar alternative to a certain plugin, please feel free to to post it in the comments below. Enjoy.
Plugins Currently Installed On This Blog:
- All in One SEO Pack: Adds features like being able to add meta tags and keywords in each post so that way search engines have a better way of identifying your page content.
- Comment Approval Notification: Sends e-mail notification when a new user comments on your blog and their comment is approved by moderator.
- CommentLuv: Automatically inserts the latest post by any commentator by fetching a link to the post from hes own blog and pasting it into the comment he left.
- Twitterlink Comments Plugin to show a link to follow the comment author on twitter if they have entered in their username at least once in the comment form.
- Contact Form 7: Creates a contact form so that readers can contact you directly if they have any questions, you can put the form on any page you like or even within a post by a simple command line they give you.
- Defensio Anti-Spam: This is a Spam fighting plugin that is similar to Akismet but its free for both Personal use or for small businesses of up to 5 employees sending them less than 25,000 posts per month.

Hey James,
Nope I haven’t tried it yet, gonna give it a try.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Popup domination pushes the subscription to higher level. But do you need huge subscribers right now?
Suresh Khanal recently posted..8 Free WordPress Plugins for Every Newbie Bloggers
I made a mistake in the description of WordPress Popup Scheduler.
What it does is: allows you to add a popup box to your blog. You can customize the popup to suit your blog theme and schedule it to popup as and when you like it.
This popup box is not for subscription, it only shows up 1 time letting people know that comments on this blog are DoFollow, that’s all.
It’s not going to show up again unless the user formatted their computer (or cleared browser cache) or used a different browser.
Thanks to you I corrected the description of the plugin.
Thanks Suresh.

Setting up a feed for your comments is actually a good idea, especially if the content that you’ve written is really something that’s worth commenting on, and if there’s a very active conversation going on. That being said, it’s going to be great for those niches that continuously evolve in terms of methodology, like those in the SEO reseller business, and the entire SEO industry in general. Great plug-ins, by the way.
Thanks Gerald.
Wow, that’s a pretty good list you’ve got there. Helped me a lot starting my new blog. However, do you recommend WP-SpamFree as the spam filter? I haven’t tried it yet, but I came across a few others, and find it difficult to see which one is best. There is a new one, or well it’s a new version of an old one, called SpamTask which I am currently testing. It works great as well. I think I’ll create some blogs to test a few to see which one I like the most.
Asma Khan recently posted..snow socks
Hey Asma,
I did a quick Google search on WP-SpamFree to check it out since I never used it before, and on the first page google search results returned says “We are no longer able to provide support for the WP-SpamFree plugin” so I’m not sure if it will be alright to use in the future since no updates are going to happen.
I’m currently using “Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin” combined with “Defensio Anti-Spam” and they’re doing pretty good, I recommend you give them a try.
Thanks.
Hi
Nice sharing!!!
Keep it up
Thanks

Such a great collection of useful plugins! Thanks for sharing them! I’ve already used some of them, the all-in-one SEO pack is a great thing, commentluv is nice as well. I could mention one more useful plugin: the feed changer, which allows you manipulate the feeds, it is a random feed generator as well.

I like the look of the TwitterLink plug in, it looks really useful. I quite often miss when people reply to my tweets since I uninstalled TweetDeck which means I don’t always get to reply to people which is not ideal! Thanks for the list.

nrelate related content is my current favorite plugin. Check it out, it uses nice photos for your “related posts” section.

I don’t see Akisment plugin in your list… Do you think its not effective to contol spam? Or could you suggest better than Akismet to protect my blog from spam comments??
BTW, you missed out a good plugin:
Sexy bookmarks
Rahul kuntala recently posted..3 Easy Ways to Make Money From AdSense
I used to use Sexy Bookmarks but what I and other bloggers found out was that it slows down your blog, I tested this on more than one blog. They might have improved it now, but not sure. If your blog is slow, try disabling sexy bookmarks and see if there is a difference.
As for Akismet I used to use it, however it wasn’t very effective, so now I use a combination of 2 plugins that work well with each other:
1. “Defensio Anti-Spam”.
2. “Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin”.
Thanks for commenting.
yeah, though sexybookmarks is sexy but it effects the blog loading time. I used to use it too, but disabled it because of its permorfance.
Thanks for sharing your 2 plugins to stop spam comments. But, 2 plugins?? Aren’t they affect loading time, already I have 14 plugins running on my blog now..

If you guys are brand new to the idea of blogging, a wordpress plugin is simply just an add-on that you can put into your blog. There are all sorts of various plugins at your disposal. But only a really handful of wordpress plugins are actually USEFUL to converting more of your readers into buyers, email opt-ins or loyal readers.
Andreas Pazer recently posted..5 Reasons Blog Marketing is Effective
Sayed, are you using multiple plugins to send email to the commenters? As my experience tells, too many emails will dilute the sincerity about your blog and people will start ignoring emails. I think reply me plugin and thank me later plugin are sufficient for the purpose. Reply me plugin will send email only when somebody replies the particular comment. So you won’t be sending email for each and every new comment on the post. And the second plugin ‘thank me later’ will remind them to visit the blog if they are not returned for some time. This way we can improve the effectiveness of emails and inform commenters correctly. What do you think about it?
Suresh Khanal recently posted..How Much Each of Your Adsense Ad Units Are Earning?
Hey Suresh, I’m using 4 plugins for comments and they are all different.
By looking at my list again above in the post, I found that I made a mistake in the description of 1 of them, I posted that:
“Twitterlink Comments: Send an email to the author automatically while someone reply to his/her comment.”
And that’s Incorrect,
what it does is: “shows a link to follow the comment author on twitter if they have entered in their username at least once in the comment form”.
So I corrected that and updated the post, thanks to you
Now, as for the other 3 plugins, they do different tasks and they don’t spam emails.
Here is how they differ:
1) Comment Approval Notification: Sends e-mail notification when a new user comments on your blog and their comment is approved by moderator. (This happens only 1 time, which is the first time they leave a comment).
2) Subscribe To Comments: This adds a little check box at the bottom of the comment text area to give the commentators the ability to get an e-mail notification whenever there is a new reply or a new comment to a certain post.
3) ReplyMe: Sends an email to the author automatically while someone reply to his/her comment. (Only when someone replies to their comment, not the whole post).
As you can see, they do different things and it’s based on the readers choice. If they want to subscribe to comments on a post level, then any comments happen on the post they will see in their email but it’s their choice.
However I do find it important that when someone leaves a comment and someone else replies to that specific comment, that the commentator be notified, because they could be asking a question or need help, so if anyone replies only to their comment, they will get the reply it in their email.
They are not going to get a reply in their email for every comment on the post unless they subscribe and choose that on their own.
Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention Suresh, I corrected the plugin description above and updated the post.
Take care bud.
I have used most of this plugin but I never used Redirection plugin. But I heard it is very important to redirect a fake page. Thanks for sharing all important plugins
